講座趣旨
The teacher will give a short talk on the topic. Then there will be time for questions and comments. After this we will study the handout which will include text and pictures. The teacher will explain difficult words and phrases and how to use them. There will also be questions to answer and discussion time after this.

講師紹介
Ｊａｍｅｓ Ｃ．Ｈｏｕｓｅ
（ジェイムス・ハウス）
元明治大学情報コミュニケーション学部教授
ロンドン大学で英文学・英語学を学び、ケンブリッジ大学大学院で音声学を学ぶ。来日前は、グラスゴー、エディンバラ、ロンドンにおいて弁論、演劇を教える。劇場やテレビでの俳優活動や、BBCスコットランドでのアナウンサー経験も持つ。1982年に来日し、1984年より明治大学にて教鞭をとる。1993年に明治大学短期大学の助教授、1998年に教授となり、情報コミュニケーション学部教授を経て2018年に退職後、明治大学リバティアカデミーで講師を務める。また、喜劇グループ「ザ・ガイジン」の共同創始者でもあり、NHKラジオ英会話講座で8年間出演者を務めた経験も持つ。その他に、高校や大学の教科書の執筆にも携わる。
