講座趣旨
The main goals of the course are to develop your English skills and knowledge to better enable you to participate in discussions about World Heritage Sites. The 14 World Heritage Sites in the textbook are distributed across six continents. Since there will not be sufficient time to cover all 14 chapters, students will select the 10 sites which will be covered during the course. Each lesson will involve previewing key vocabulary, watching a video clip (while reading along with the transcript), completing some comprehension questions, practicing a short conversation in pairs, and will finish with small group discussions of your own personal travel experiences. Plenty of opportunities for interaction among the professor and students will be provided throughout the course.
このコースでは世界遺産を話題にしながら英語によるディスカッションがスムーズに出来る総合的な英語力の向上を目指します。テキストの中にある14の世界遺産から参加者が希望する10カ所を選び、それぞれの章について語彙の予習学習、短い映像学習、英語でのディスカッションによる内容確認、ペアワーク、各自の旅行体験などを語る小グループでのディスカッションなどを行います。このコースは講師との英語による交流の機会を多く持てるように工夫されています。

（ロッセール ヒュー・ローデリック）
明治大学大学院国際日本学研究科兼任講師、元明治大学国際日本学部特任准教授、東京外国語大学講師
2007年テンプル大学ジャパンキャンパス大学院博士課程修了。東京女子大学、御茶ノ水女子大学、上智大学、東北大学、明治大学で講師を務める。過去8年間に渡り全国英語学会の分野別研究会のコミッティーメンバーとして学会の世話役を担当。
